News : Dr. Merle Emre becomes new director for education at TUDAG

The supervisory board of TU Dresden AG has appointed Dr. Merle Emre as a further member of the company's executive board effective February 1, 2023. She will be responsible for the knowledge transfer division. In this position she succeeds Prof. Dr. Hans-Müller-Steinhagen, former principal of the TU Dresden, who retired on September 30th.

Dr. Merle Emre is also appoin­ted Mana­ging Direc­tor of Dres­den Inter­na­tio­nal Uni­ver­sity. »I am very much loo­king for­ward to the exci­ting task of fur­ther deve­lo­ping the group of com­pa­nies in the field of edu­ca­tion and, with a very spe­cial focus the Dres­den Inter­na­tio­nal Uni­ver­sity in accordance with the trans­fer stra­tegy of the TU Dres­den in the respon­si­ble posi­tion,« says Emre. »With Dr. Emre, we are com­ple­ting the Exe­cu­tive Board con­sis­ting of Prof. Jac­ques Roh­ayem as well as Udo Wer­ner and, above all, gai­ning an expe­ri­en­ced sci­ence mana­ger for the manage­ment of our lar­gest edu­ca­tion com­pany« explains Rei­ner Zie­schank, Chair­man of the Super­vi­sory Board.

The new board mem­ber is moving to Dres­den from Ham­burg where she pre­viously worked at various uni­ver­si­ties and tech­ni­cal col­leges, dri­ving for­ward the areas of digi­ta­liza­tion, inter­na­tio­na­liza­tion and inno­va­tion, among others.
