News : GWT: Inauguration of the ICE hall in Cottbus – Project progress Prof. Sundermeier

Instandsetzungswerk für ICE Züge in Cottbus
A ceremony was held to mark the commissioning of Deutsche Bahn AG's new maintenance facility for ICE trains in Cottbus.

Around two years ago, the go-ahead was given for the construction of Deutsche Bahn AG’s major »New Cottbus Plant« project. A project that for the first time tested the »rail partnership model« for new cooperative collaboration in railroad construction.
The new ICE maintenance hall in the eastern construction area has now been officially opened. Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who attended the event, emphasized in a speech the importance of the construction project for structural change in the region and praised the project’s success, particularly against the backdrop of mobility change.
