On Octo­ber 06th and 07th of this year the Dres­den Inter­na­tio­nal Uni­ver­sity (DIU) is the host of the main GeNeMe con­fe­rence with the topic »Digi­ta­lity and Diver­sity – over­co­ming bar­riers with digi­tal trans­for­ma­tion«. The GeNeMe »Com­mu­ni­ties in New Media« looks in par­ti­cu­lar at online com­mu­ni­ties at the inter­face or from the per­spec­tive of seve­ral disci­pli­nes such as com­pu­ter sci­ence, media tech­no­logy, eco­no­mics, edu­ca­tion & infor­ma­tion sci­ence and social & media sci­ence. As a forum for trans­di­sci­pli­nary dia­lo­gue bet­ween sci­ence, busi­ness, orga­niza­ti­ons and admi­nis­tra­tion, it enables the exch­ange of expe­ri­ence and know­ledge bet­ween par­ti­ci­pants from a wide range of disci­pli­nes, orga­niza­ti­ons and institutions.
