The donation directly supports the further education and training work as well as the innovative research in the field of multiple sclerosis of the Center for Clinical Neurosciences at the University Hospital Dresden. The donation check was presented by Prof. Dr. Hans Müller-Steinhagen, President of DIU, to Dr. Andreas Sperl and Mr. Hansjörg König from the Stiftung Hochschulmedizin Dresden in the presence of Prof. Dr. Tjalf Ziemssen, Director of the Center for Clinical Neurosciences, at DIU’s premises in Dresden’s World Trade Center.
Since 2019, DIU has been working closely with the Center for Clinical Neuroscience led by Prof. Ziemssen. Together, they succeeded in developing a new degree program – the part-time Master of Science in Multiple Sclerosis Management – in 2020, which has since been successfully conducted in German at DIU. At the end of the year, the course will be internationalized in close cooperation with the European Charcot Foundation, so that in the future MS professionals worldwide can be trained in a structured, academic and practical manner to become MS specialists.
