Three days full of inspiration, exchange and expertise – the EIPOS Expert Days 2025 from June 18 to 20 once again demonstrated the value of knowledge transfer in the expert sector. In the inspiring atmosphere of the PENCK Hotel in Dresden, experts from all over Germany met to discuss current developments, learn about new approaches and talk together about the future of construction, assessment and wood preservation.
Diversity as a strength – three themes, one claim
With over 20 presentations, exciting discussion rounds and practical insights, the three days of the event offered a wide range of specialist topics. From changes in property valuation and the complex challenges of building damage analysis to innovative concepts in wood preservation – the program was not only diverse in terms of content, but also highly topical.
This year, particular attention was paid to topics such as the use of artificial intelligence in valuation, damage caused by new forms of construction and energy sources as well as the resource-saving use of traditional building materials. Once again, it became clear that professional expertise thrives on open exchange – and on thinking outside the box.
Real estate valuation in transition – Day 1
The 25th EIPOS Real Estate Valuation Experts‹ Day impressively demonstrated how dynamically the industry is currently developing. The focus was on topics such as the role of artificial intelligence in valuation, sustainability in the real estate industry and special valuation issues relating to garages, parking spaces and heritable building rights. An outlook on the expected upturn in the real estate market in 2025 rounded off the picture. There was also room for critical discussions on the limitations of existing valuation models – a day that provided food for thought and opened up new perspectives.
Building damage assessment: Building expertise – Day 2
The second day – in cooperation with the 18th Building Symposium of the BVS Saxony – was dedicated entirely to existing buildings. Under the guiding theme »From the crown to the base«, typical and new damage patterns were analyzed: from the conversion of historic brickwork to sealing problems and plinth connections to damage caused by vibrations and photovoltaic systems. The discussion on the potential of artificial intelligence in damage assessment was particularly forward-looking. The combination of scientific principles with practical experience made this day particularly beneficial for all experts in the construction industry.
Wood preservation between tradition and innovation – Day 3
On the third day, the 28th EIPOS Expert Day on Wood Preservation focused on a material that could hardly be more topical: Wood. The conference covered a wide range of topics – from traditional techniques such as wooden wedges and the restoration of historic wooden bridges to highly topical issues such as flame protection in modern timber construction or the restoration of contaminated wooden components. Clay in timber-frame restoration, the analysis of modified timber and dealing with water damage in new buildings illustrated how diverse the requirements for wood preservation are today – and how important interdisciplinary cooperation is.
