The cam\u00adpaign, initia\u00adted by the \u00bbLiving with Can\u00adcer\u00ab foun\u00adda\u00adtion recei\u00adves signi\u00adfi\u00adcant sup\u00adport from the Uni\u00adver\u00adsity Hos\u00adpi\u00adtal Carl Gus\u00adtav Carus Dres\u00adden \u2013 from pro\u00adject coor\u00addi\u00adna\u00adtion to per\u00adson\u00adnel and mate\u00adrial con\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adti\u00adons. The com\u00admit\u00adment of the Saxon Elbe Regatta Club is also cru\u00adcial. Their mem\u00adber clubs not only pro\u00advide the vol\u00adun\u00adteer coa\u00adches for the teams, but also take over the manage\u00adment of the race- and this for the tenth time. Dres\u00adden Inter\u00adna\u00adtio\u00adnal Uni\u00adver\u00adsity has also been invol\u00adved from the very begin\u00adning. It is the main spon\u00adsor of the cha\u00adrity regatta.<\/p>\n

On Sep\u00adtem\u00adber 24th<\/sup>, 52 ama\u00adteur ath\u00adle\u00adtes, pati\u00adents, employees and sup\u00adport\u00aders of the Dres\u00adden Uni\u00adver\u00adsity Medi\u00adcal Cen\u00adter will com\u00adpete in teams of four. The focus of the cha\u00adrity regatta is not only on sport\u00ading suc\u00adcess but above all on the com\u00admit\u00adment to a good cause. The funds rai\u00adsed will be used to finance the\u00adrapy pro\u00adgrams for peo\u00adple with can\u00adcer in Dres\u00adden and Sax\u00adony. \u00bbRowing against Can\u00adcer\u00ab was initia\u00adted by the \u00bbLiving with Can\u00adcer\u00ab foun\u00adda\u00adtion which orga\u00adni\u00adzes cha\u00adrity regat\u00adtas at more than ten loca\u00adti\u00adons nationwide.<\/p>\n

Among others, Bar\u00adbara Haupt\u00admann is invol\u00adved in Dres\u00adden with a very spe\u00adcial team: she has suc\u00adcee\u00added in get\u00adting five peo\u00adple on board who are or were affec\u00adted by can\u00adcer them\u00adsel\u00adves. \u00bbIt\u2019s just a good thing,\u00ab she says. She is not only thin\u00adking of the exer\u00adcise and nut\u00adri\u00adtion pro\u00adgrams of the \u00bbNatio\u00adnal Cen\u00adter for Tumor Dise\u00ada\u00adses Dres\u00adden\u00ab (NCT\/\u200bUCC) for which she would like to \u00bbraise dona\u00adti\u00adons\u00ab with con\u00advic\u00adtion but also of the sense of com\u00admu\u00adnity that can be felt during the trai\u00adning ses\u00adsi\u00adons and the regatta. On the water, each team mem\u00adber can show that they are going their own way and are still ready to take on new chal\u00adlenges despite the serious ill\u00adness. Most of the \u00bbTeam Bar\u00adbara\u00ab mem\u00adbers are com\u00admit\u00adted to ensu\u00adring that others affec\u00adted by can\u00adcer are not left alone with their dise\u00adase. They have initia\u00adted self-help groups or, like Bar\u00adbara Haupt\u00admann, are active in the pati\u00adent advi\u00adsory board to give other affec\u00adted peo\u00adple a voice to the NCT\/\u200bUCC team.0<\/p>\n

The pati\u00adent advi\u00adsory board of the NCT\/\u200bUCC repres\u00adents a spe\u00adcial con\u00adcern of Dres\u00adden Uni\u00adver\u00adsity Medi\u00adcine. As a top loca\u00adtion for can\u00adcer medi\u00adcine in Ger\u00admany, it is an important goal to trans\u00adfer pro\u00adgress in medi\u00adcine as quickly and directly as pos\u00adsi\u00adble into pati\u00adent care. The last edi\u00adtion of \u00bbRowing Against Can\u00adcer\u00ab in Dres\u00adden in 2019 rai\u00adsed 50,000 euros for can\u00adcer pati\u00adents in the region \u2013 the hig\u00adhest amount rai\u00adsed in Dres\u00adden to date. The foun\u00adda\u00adtion \u00bbLiving with Can\u00adcer\u00ab curr\u00adently uses the dona\u00adti\u00adons to finance seven pro\u00adjects in Dres\u00adden, from which pati\u00adents from the Dres\u00adden region bene\u00adfit during and after can\u00adcer the\u00adrapy. The goals of the pro\u00adjects are bet\u00adter per\u00adso\u00adnal coping with tumor dise\u00ada\u00adses and an increase in qua\u00adlity of life, in addi\u00adtion to the pro\u00adject of the Cli\u00adnic for Uro\u00adlogy, for exam\u00adple through tar\u00adge\u00adted exer\u00adcise and nut\u00adri\u00adtio\u00adnal the\u00adrapy. \u00bbOf course we are hoping for a large amount of dona\u00adti\u00adons this year and for many peo\u00adple to visit and sup\u00adport us at the regatta on Sep\u00adtem\u00adber 24th<\/sup>.
